Bob & Anna's Wedding Shower

Bob & Anna had a wedding shower at our Church last night.

Who could have known that the Texas Rangers would be playing in the World Series that evening? Nevertheless, there was a wonderful turnout and they received many wonderful gifts for which we thank you all.

There was fantastic food, cake, and punch. There was also a “quiz show” type game for Anna in which she had to answer 20 questions about Bob (which he had already pre-answered). Anna started off a bit slow, but finished strong with 15 answers correct out of 20.

Just wanted to take a few minutes and post some of the pictures from the shower.

As I was coming in to the Church, there was a magnificent sunset, couldn't resist taking this picture of the Church cell tower with the sunset in the background.

P. S. This was also my first chance to shoot indoors with my new Nikon 28-300mm lens. It’s a very nice lens, but in rapid-fire mode it doesn’t like subjects that tend to move. It will be fine for travel and it will do wonderful scenic landscapes, static portraits, etc., but I don’t expect to shoot many sporting events with it. The lens does a lot of thinking for auto-focus and for vibration reduction (both of which this amateur really needs) and so it tends to keep the shutter open a bit longer than my other lens.
